A perfect, juicy ham takes patience, dedication, and a little gratitude. "Patience is what cooking is all about," dice Abuela Conchita — y es cierto. No hay atajos para preparar un buen jamón. Luckily, Conchita Guava BBQ Sauce makes the path simple: marinate, bake, glaze, and let the oven do the rest.
Ingredients
• 1 (5-pound) bone-in, less-sodium ham
• 1/2 bottle red wine
• 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
• 6 garlic cloves, peeled
• Conchita Guava Barbeque Sauce
How to make it
Preferably, marinate the ham overnight in the wine, balsamic vinegar, and garlic.
Preheat oven to 350°.
Trim fat and rind from ham. Place ham on a broiler pan coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
Brush ham with Conchita Guava Barbecue Sauce. Bake an additional 30 minutes or until meat thermometer registers 140°, basting once and brushing again. Broil for 5 minutes. Place ham on a platter; cover with foil. Let stand 10 minutes before slicing.
