A bowl of crema de lentejas is what comfort tastes like. Nourishing, easy to make, and gentle enough for the youngest at the table — the kids will eat it without a fight, and that’s a small miracle in any household. Conchita Lentils make the base; love makes the rest.
Ingredients
• 1 lentil bag Conchita
• 2 liters of water
• 2 cups of milk
• 1 onion
• 1 leek
• 1 celery (without leaves)
• 3 tomatoes
• 2 cloves of garlic
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
• 1 carrot
• 1 potato
• 1 fresh bay leaf (recommended)
• 1 tablespoon of Conchita red wine vinegar
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 1 bone of ham (optional)
• 1 tablespoon Conchita all-purpose seasoning (optional)
How to make it
Boil the water in a large saucepan over low heat. Leave the milk, salt and pepper aside and add all the ingredients and cover for 50 minutes. You can add more water if necessary. Remove the ham bone, onion and bay leaf, then pour the soup into a food processor and run until smooth. Return the cream to the saucepan and add salt and pepper to taste. Gradually add the milk to a simmer and stir. Cook 10 to 15 minutes and add more seasonings if necessary.
