BEANS AND RICE

 

Asteple in many Hispanic cuisines, we offer a wide assortment of beans, be they dry, canned in water and salt, or fully seasoned and ready to eat. They can be eaten as a soup, as a side dish on top of rice, in a salad, or in a number of other ways. They are an excellent source of fiber and low in fat. We also offer long grain rice in both regular and parboiled types in various sizes.

We like to think we make beans that appeal to a wide variety of consumers:

 

1. Dry Beans: Our dry beans appeal to the traditionalist in all of us. Those who like to make their beans from scratch, and insist on the best quality available usually use them. We sell beans to meet their exacting demands. They come in ten varieties: Black Beans, Small Red Beans, Red Kidney Beans, Chick Peas, Lentils, Pink Beans, Pinto Beans, Whole and Split Green Peas, Great Northern Beans, and Roman Beans. These beans are all available in a 12 oz. bag, with the Black Beans, Small Red Beans, Pinto Beans, and Chick Peas also available in a larger 4 lb. size.


2. Ready to Eat Black Beans: These beans are ideal for the busy consumers who are always pressed for time. They are fully seasoned and very tasty, and make an excellent soup or can be served over a bed of rice. They come in a 15 oz, 28 oz and 104 oz. institutional size cans.

 

3. Water and Salt Beans: These beans are geared for the person who likes to cook with their own flavors and seasonings, yet does not have the time to leave the beans soaking overnight to soften. These beans are fully cooked, yet unseasoned, and waiting for you to use in a salad, or season with your favorite spices over a low heat to really bring out their flavor. Choose from Black Beans, Small Red Beans, Red Kidney Beans, Chick Peas, Pinto Beans, Pink Beans, Great Northern Beans, Roman Beans, Dry Pigeon Peas, and Green Pigeon Peas, all available in a 15.5 oz can. We also carry Black Beans, Small Red Beans, Red Kidney Beans, and Chick Peas in a 29 oz. can, as well as black beans and chick peas in 104 oz. institutional size cans.

 

4. Rice: Available in 5 lb., 10 lb., and 20 lb. sizes, our Long Grain Rice is domestic enriched rice with at most 4% broken pieces. Rice is consumed by many Hispanics and Asians in their daily meals. We also offer a Parboiled Rice, or converted rice, in 5 lb. bag and 20 lb our valencia (short grain) nice is available in a 12 oz. bag. We recently also introduced delicious new Spanish Style Yellow Rice Mix in a resealable 3.4 lb. canister.
